Masterclass 2022 - Insight Sensemaking

From Information Overload to Compelling Insight Executive Summaries

Aims and objectives

This course is designed to help researchers and analysts generate actionable insights to get to a compelling message that can be shared with senior business stakeholders. It is targeted at researchers and analysts who are currently overwhelmed with data and frequently find themselves lost down a rabbit hole, unable to clearly link great findings to the bigger commercial or strategic picture driving the work.

The aim of this course is to provide a proven sensemaking roadmap to ensure truly actionable insight is not lost in the detail.

The core objectives are:

  • How to deal with the messy insight generation process across multiple sources of data
  • How to develop an actionable insight message using a combination of top-down and bottom-up sensemaking approaches
  • How to write up your message and demonstrate your evidence-based argument without overloading the audience

After attending these sessions, we expect attendees to be able to:

  • Apply the sensemaking framework to create a meaningful evidence-based argument and recommendation
  • Feel confident in their ability to let go of superfluous information in order to reduce the information noise, manage complex messaging and inject meaning into summary outputs
  • Trial new approaches with upcoming project debriefs and optimize new ways of working to consistently deliver sensemaking reports and presentations

To support the training we will share our sensemaking approach below:
