About Isabella Saunders

Isabella specializes in program evaluation and research using qualitative and mixed-methods research approaches. Isabella grew up in the Blue Mountains of NSW. Born to two avid travellers, the value of understanding different ways of life, ideologies and beliefs was nurtured early on. This was solidified during university, where Isabella spent a year studying in Argentina and completed her thesis on the rise of informal labour among disadvantaged groups during a time of economic unrest. Isabella weaves these experiences into her work, previously having held a research role at the Centre for Social Impact at the University of New South Wales, where she focused on program evaluation and outcomes measurement in the fields of young people, health and wellbeing, financial capability and gender. In her work, Isabella strives to address systematic social inequality through outcomes measurement and an understanding of how complex systems and programs work. Isabella was also a researcher for Australia’s first Social Progress Index - a tool that measures how well the states and territories of Australia are providing for the basic human needs, foundations of wellbeing, and opportunities of its citizens. Isabella has a combined bachelor's degree in Communications and International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney, where she majored in Social Inquiry and Latin American Studies
