Conscious Consumerism amongst Australians in 2022

There is widespread intention amongst Australians to be more sustainable, BUT there is a big gap between these intentions and how people behave/spend their money.

Research by Sprout Strategy in 2022 has quantified the SAY-DO gap around a number of issues falling under the umbrella of sustainability, such as recycling, being environmentally responsible, supporting local, and simplification, to name a few.

In this 45-minute presentation of quant and qual research, we share what we have learned and how we address quantifying the SAY-DO gap with implicit and response speed measurement techniques. You will learn how many Australians are eco-active and eco-inactive in their behaviours vs how many are stuck in the gap (aka Gap Dwellers), plus some behavioural nudge ideas to bridge the gap.

The need for researchers to decode the SAY-DO gap goes beyond this topic. In this presentation, we also demonstrate new methods to predict more accurately and quantify behaviours where traditional methods fall short.
